The Sisterhood of Temple Beth Shalom is a group of diverse women whose lives are enriched by their involvement in our varied programs and activities. We encourage any woman who shares our mission to join Sisterhood. A desire to promote closer fellowship among its members and to support social, religious and educational activities is the only requirement for membership. We are enthusiastic, inclusive, friendly and committed women.
Fundraising activities of the Sisterhood, including dues, MahJongg Tournament and Gift Shop, enable us to donate money to: the Religious School, the Cantor Fund, repairing the Torah, and supports our monetary endeavors of assistance for the Rabbi, the office or the Temple in general. Sisterhood also generously provides challot for Shabbat service and a server for our oneg.
Sisterhood projects over the years have been: Rummage Sale, Rosh Chodesh service, Women’s Seder, Sisterhood Shabbat, Vero Beach Museum of Art Tour, Community Seder, MahJongg Tournament and the Sisterhood Gift Shop. If you’d like more information about Sisterhood, please contact the President, at or and she can answer any questions you might have. Feel free to come any Thursday in the Social Hall from 12:30-3:00pm for MahJongg. Several book clubs are operational and we’re always looking for new members.
You can check out photos of our previous activities on the web under “Photos of Events”. Hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
All TBS members and friends are invited for a night of fun in the TBS social hall. Purchase a paddle, bid on a raffle item, and win! A variety of vendors will be present to raffle off and sell gift items. Raffles are won through quarter bids. Vendors determine the number of quarters to be bid based on the value of the item. Quarters are placed in a jar and collected, participants who bid raise their paddles, and a number is pulled. The participant whose paddle matches the number wins! Admission is free. Paddles are $3 for 1 and $5 for 2. Hot dogs, pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available for sale.
This last month has been unbelievably trying for all of us.
Whether it be sadness, disbelief, anger, or any of the other feelings that the invasion of the White House may invoke, we have to be able to process it and come to terms with our thoughts. It would be so much easier to be able to discuss and vent in person. Unfortunately, we are not quite able to do that.
I am hoping that our membership will join us to chat with friends, discuss a book, participate in Rosh Chodesh, and focus on something other than the news.
I hope this new month finds you well and eager to try something new.
See you on Zoom.
I hope you enjoyed our PJ’s and Pearls this past month. Those of you who were not able to join us, missed a fun time. Our knitting class this month, for those of us who do not knit, will be on November 11, at 2:00 pm. December 8, at 6:30 pm, we will be making oven fried latkes to get a jump on Chanukah without splattering up the stove top.
We would love your input as to what you would like to see, or learn or discuss in the coming months. Is it easier to join us during the day or in the evening?
Waiting to hear from you. Until we can get together in person, be safe.
