In chapter 31 of Exodus, G_d tells Moses, “v’shamru v’nai yisrael,” “the People of Israel shall protect and preserve Shabbat…it shall be a day to settle and reconnect the soul.” When our community gathers for Shabbat, with prayer, study and song, we seek rest, refreshment and renewal.
