Dear Friends,

By the time you read this article, our plans will be well underway for the High Holy Days. To say that this will be an unusual time for our congregation would be an understatement. However, I am excited about the new challenges and opportunities that await us.

The Rabbi and Cantor have been hard at work making this year’s services meaningful and inclusive. We will be pre-recording members of our congregation being called up to recite Aliyah’s and for other honors. As part of the afternoon on Yom Kippur, members from Temple Beit HaYam in Stuart and Temple Beth El Israel in Port Saint Lucie will join us in discussion groups lead by our Rabbi and Cantor and the Rabbis from those congregations. We also plan to involve our members by pre-recording messages about the holidays.

By now many of you are familiar with Zoom, our digital platform. All of our High Holy Day services will be brought to you using Zoom. If you are having problems using Zoom please call me at 772-453-3611 or the Temple Office at 772-569-4700 ext. 201 and we will see what we can do to help.

May this New Year be filled with health and happiness, and sweet moments for you and your family.

L’Shanah Tova,

Paul B. Kanarek, President
Temple Beth Shalom
