Merriam-Webster defines “sisterhood” as an organization of women with a common interest for social, charitable or business purposes. Another definition describes a congenial relationship or companionship among women with mutual esteem, concern and support for one another. We are fortunate to belong to such an organization where our members, or sisters, genuinely respect and care for each other. Together we celebrate mitzvahs, we grieve, we show concern for each other during times of illness, and we readily forgive. Teshuva, or atonement, and the corresponding forgiveness are central themes of Rosh Hashanah. During this holy month, may we strive to strengthen the bonds of our Sisterhood by continuing to respect, care and readily forgive our fellow sisters.
I wish you and your loved ones a L’Shana Tovah, a good year, and may you be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life for a good year.
President, TBS Sisterhood
