Dear All,

Are you looking for something to do during the pandemic? If you haven’t taken advantage of the many learning opportunities that Temple Beth Shalom has offered in the past few months you are really missing out on something special. This past week I participated in a discussion lead by Rabbi Joseph Edelheit. Rabbi Edelheit served as the Rabbi in Reform congregations for 30 years, earned a doctorate in Christian theology and retired as an Emeritus Professor of Religious and Jewish Studies. This year he was awarded the Alumnus of the Year award by the Divinity School of the University of Chicago. In addition to all of his accomplishments, he is also a fraternity brother of our own Richard Bialosky. Rabbi Edelheit lead a thought-provoking conversation from Rio de Janeiro where he currently lives, and we had people on our Zoom, call from Vero Beach and all over the United States.

Another great program is the Treasure Coast Jewish Film Festival. This program is celebrating its 15th year and is available online so that you can watch the film over a period of three days and then participate in a group discussion as you wish. There are four more films coming up this year for you to enjoy. Finally, if you want to learn how to make Bourekas, a Sephardic baked pastry, you can join Nicole Perez, a member of our congregation, on Zoom and learn how to make these delicious treats.

These are just a few of Temple Beth Shalom’s offerings. To keep up to date with the latest programs and learning opportunities please read our weekly Update. Our Update will tell you what is coming up and will give you links that allow you to sign up.

Enjoy!
