Sisterhood’s annual luncheon which was held at Grand Harbor on Sunday, May 3 was a colossal success. The ladies in attendance enjoyed a choice of one of three delectable luncheon options. This year the base cost of attending was $18. The remainder would be underwritten by Sisterhood but our members were given an option to make this a fundraiser as well by adding to the base cost of $22. We had four anonymous donations of $100.00 each. Sisterhood offers our most Sincere thanks to each of you! We also had ten donations of $36. And again each and every one is Greatly appreciated. Sisterhood appreciates and thanks each and Every member who joined us at the annual luncheon.
The following slate of officers for 2014/2015 was presented to the members by Nominating Chair, Bobbi Feiertag:
Shelley Weltman President
Maxyne Trompeter Vice President
Susan Coren Treasurer
Sue Docktor Recording Secretary
Linda Culver Corresponding Secretary
A vote was taken and the slate was accepted by the membership. Susan Coren, Treasurer, presented the 2014/2015 budget which was approved by the membership. Shelley Weltman, Vice President, presented a revision to the by-laws which was also unanimously approved. Bobbi Feiertag distributed an interest sheet for programming which will enable Sisterhood to bring you programs and events that are of the greatest interest.
In the midst of lunch and conversation we took time out for a raffle and 50/50. Our 50/50 was won by Ruth Brown. Congratulations! And many of the Raffle items were won at an especially lucky table. Among them were a $50 gift certificate to Joey’s Seafood, two separate Classic Car Wash certificates, Swarovski crystal earrings made by Andrea Mellon, a hand crafted photo frame, a Kate Spade iphone case and two tickets to the Theatre Guild. Thank you to our very generous contributors. Each lady at the luncheon received two gift cards to Jimmy John’s as well as sample lotions. It was a lovely afternoon with friends old and new!
Please direct any questions or concerns to me by phone or e-mail.
Charlene David, President

ONEG CAPTAINS WANTED
Oneg Captains are needed for January 2016, February, March and July. What is an Oneg Captain? It is a woman who is willing to help fill the void of Oneg sponsors that may exist for “her” month. Or, in the event of a last minute emergency, check the TBS freezer for goodies to provide an Oneg for Friday evening. Both of these responsibilities rarely occur. Why are most Onegs sponsored? Bar/Bat Mitzvah families and religious school classes cover onegim and Trudie in the Temple Office mails a letter twice a year to all congregants requesting sponsors and instructions as reminders. Trudie also publishes any Oneg openings in the Scroll.
As you know, the responsibility of a sponsor is just to bring the goodies and beverages to the Temple. The sponsor neither needs to set up nor clean up. Sisterhood pays Lisa or Amy to set up and clean up.
