I wish I were thin…I wish I had straight, frizz-free hair…I wish I were taller than my short frame. So many of us (myself included) wish for things we believe would make us a better person. But, really, would having frizz-free hair really make me a better person? Or, better yet, would I like myself if I were/had (fill in the blank). The answer, of course, is no! I believe we need to celebrate our unique attributes and be kind to ourselves, look for the good, not only in ourselves, but also in others. I have found helping others makes me feel really good about myself. So, on a day when I’m feeling low and nothing in my closet fits, I know it’s time to volunteer!
One of my favorite Sisterhood events, the Women’s Seder, is scheduled on Tuesday, April 12th. I invite you to join Chair, Cindy Goldman and our community of women to share this free inspirational experience led by Cantor Rubinstein. Please bring your favorite Passover dinner item. Also, participate in the Congregation’s Passover Seder on April 23, 2016, at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
Sisterhood’s Spring Donor luncheon is scheduled on Sunday, May 1st at Grand Harbor. The renowned Laughing Lady will perform, followed by a delicious lunch. A flyer is included in this Scroll, with menu choices and payment options.
Finally, a huge thank you to Jayne Drucker and Cookie Compton and their committee for another successful Mahj Jongg tournament. Approximately 80 women attended this fabulous event!
P.S. In the interest of full disclosure, I really do like my frizzy hair!
