May 2016 scroll article

It is hard to believe that this academic year is already coming to a close. We have had such a full year of classes and activities that the momentum just keeps building. As we finish up strong, there is still a full schedule for May.

On Sunday, May 1 Religious School meets at our regular time followed by an afternoon screening of “Kinderblock 66” at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. All are welcome to attend. Our Hadracha class will meet at the movie and engage in a post screening discussion.

On Friday, May 6 we will honor our graduating seniors at Shabbat services. This is a change from the originally scheduled date. It seems that this group of students is staying busy right up to the last moment before graduation. We were lucky to find a date that they can all attend!  Mazal Tov again to Erin Cady, Hunter Lazan, Josh Hurwitz, Jeremy Maury, Michal Pollack, Bryan Rodin and Hava Stenn. Thank you to their families for sponsoring the Oneg Shabbat in their honor that night.

Hebrew school meets on Wednesday, May 4, 11, 18 (last one).

We are off for Mother’s Day, May 8 and wish everyone a nice day. We have class on May 15 and May 22.

Also on May 22, we will honor our Religious School teachers and staff with a service beginning at 10:15 am in the sanctuary followed by a special brunch. Parents are encouraged to attend this special event and express their appreciation to the teachers who work with your children all year.

Please watch your email for communications from Roxy Zoffer and Jill Zoltak regarding our Teacher Appreciation brunch and activities. We are grateful to Roxy and Jill for stepping up to help in this endeavor. If you can assist them, please let them know.

On May 28 at 9:30am join in celebrating the simcha of Cameron Katz, who will be called to read Torah as a Bar Mitzvah. Mazal Tov to Cameron and the Katz family on this special occasion!

Wishing everyone a safe and sunny summer!
