February 2016 scroll article

As it turns out, Sunday school will meet only twice during this short month of February. In place of classes on February 7 we hope you will meet us at South Beach Park (go over the Alma Lee Loy Bridge and continue straight to the park) for our annual TBS Bolt for the Bagel 5K. Whether you run, walk, volunteer or cheer, we need your presence and your excitement to make this event a success. Following the 5K the Hadracha class will meet at the park with Rabbi Birnholz.
On February 14 we will not hold school due to the Presidents’ Day holiday. Please do make time, though, to stop by the Sisterhood Rummage Sale and find some treasures that you’ve always never needed!
School will meet as usual on Sundays, February 21st and 28th.
Hebrew school meets on Wednesdays, February 3, 10 and 24. *Please note that there is no Hebrew school on February 17! If your child normally rides the St. Eds bus to Hebrew school on Wednesdays, please make other transportation arrangements.
Our Family Shabbat service is on Friday, February 5. All of our students are involved in some way, so there will be lots of energy in the room helping to make Shabbat special. Thank you to Galit Shalom-Craig who helps to organize the Oneg Shabbat and to those parents bringing in the goodies this month.
Mazal Tov to Evianna Zoffer and to Jesse Zoffer and their family! Jesse and Evie will be called to the Torah as Bnai Mitzvah on Saturday, February 27 at 9:30am. The congregation is invited to worship with the Zoffers and celebrate this simcha together.
Looking ahead, please save the date of March 18 for our next Family Shabbat. The more the merrier!
Have a wonderful February!
